Accessories and spare parts
Many products are sold together with something else. A cordless drill needs a battery and bits; a nail gun needs a filter and an O-ring. But if the customer has to track the accessory down on their own, with the right article number and the right fit, it's often easier to skip it altogether. The purchase ends up smaller than it could have been.
By linking an article to its accessories and spare parts, you show the connection directly in the recipient's interface. The customer sees what belongs with the product at the point of purchase, and can find their way back the day something needs replacing. That generates additional sales both now and later in the product's lifetime.
The link also has value beyond sales. A product with spare parts available can be repaired rather than replaced, which is becoming an increasingly explicit requirement. Linked spare parts make it visible that the product is built to last.
Connect your product with its accessories and spare parts to get the most out of your product information, generate additional sales and keep your customers satisfied.
Example
A cordless drill (Product A) has two products that can be used with it. By linking them, you can expose the bits (Product B) and the battery (Product C), making it easier for the customer to visualise and find the separate products involved.
