Addition of Primary Unit

Information and description

In some situations, it becomes necessary to add information about a smaller unit than the one previously shared in the article data flow. When this occurs, the existing packaging hierarchy needs to be supplemented with this additional unit.

General Rule

The GTIN of the primary packaging is a locked field and cannot be changed. This is a fundamental principle for managing article information and packaging structures.

Procedure for Adding a Unit

To add a new primary unit that has not previously been shared in the article flow, a specific procedure must be followed. This procedure may only be used when:

  • The unit and its GTIN have been identified as missing but necessary in the information flow between supplier and retailer.

  • It has been confirmed that the unit and its GTIN have not previously been shared and therefore are not registered in Finfo’s database.

This procedure must not be used if the unit and its GTIN have already been shared by the supplier. In such cases, the information already exists in Finfo, and an addition according to this process is not applicable.

Process

  1. The supplier submits a request to Byggmaterialhandlarna for approval.

  2. After approval, the information is sent to Finfo.

  3. The supplier sends a change notification to Finfo, which then forwards it to all subscribers of the supplier’s article information.

Responsibilities

Supplier

Once approval has been granted by Byggmaterialhandlarna, the supplier must send information to Finfo as follows:

  • Email a change notification letter to Finfo, addressed to your customers, explaining the reason for the change. The letter must include item number, GTIN, product description, current and new packaging hierarchy.

  • Email the letter to info@finfo.se, and Finfo will distribute the information to all subscribers of your article data.

  • After this, create the new article with the units and GTINs specified in the change notification.

Finfo

Communicates the change to relevant recipients and assists with the update.

Recipient

Receives information about the smaller unit and can use it in internal processes.
