Resale ban

Information and Description

The resale ban date should be used when an article may no longer be sold to end customers in retail, either temporarily or permanently. This allows retailers to know when they must stop selling the product to consumers. The item is then removed from sale.

A resale ban can be of two types: permanent or temporary.

  • If it is permanent, the status code for discontinuation must also be filled in.

  • If it is temporary, it should be entered without a discontinuation status, and the date should be removed once the resale ban is no longer valid.

Biocidal products

Biocidal products that can no longer be sold in retail are considered to have a permanent resale ban. In such cases, the date when the biocidal product may no longer be sold must be specified.
