Explanation
BASTA is an industry-wide and independent environmental assessment system for construction products. Its purpose is to phase out substances with hazardous chemical properties and promote more sustainable material choices in the construction sector. The system is owned by IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute and includes a public database where environmentally assessed products can be searched.
If the article is registered in BASTA as BETA, this must be indicated in the field. BETA means that the product meets the BASTA system’s requirements for chemical content according to the current assessment level.
Please note that an article can only have one assessment in BASTA. If an article is registered as BETA, it cannot at the same time be registered as ALFA.
