Article Class indicates what type of item is being registered.
Explanation
There are eight different article classes to choose from, depending on the type of product or area of use to be handled. The most common class is Sales Article, which is used for products that are actively intended for sale.
The article class is used to distinguish between different types of items that may have different flows, rules, or handling within the supply chain. The choice of article class therefore affects how the item is processed in the recipients’ systems, for example in purchasing, inventory, publishing, or statistics.
