Information and description
All GTIN formats supported by GS1 are accepted.

All GTIN formats: GTIN-8, GTIN-12, GTIN-13, and GTIN-14.

For articles intended to pass through retail checkouts, GTIN-8, GTIN-12, or GTIN-13 are recommended.

For outer packaging and pallets, GTIN-14 is recommended.

Responsibilities
Supplier
Entered by the supplier. Enter the GTIN without leading zeros (0) when using formats other than GTIN-14. Specify the number that appears in the barcode.
Finfo
Verifies that the GTIN is in the correct format and that it has not previously been used on any of the supplier’s other articles or packaging levels for the same article.
Recipient
