This field specifies the new article number that replaces a discontinued item.
Explanation
When an item is removed from the assortment and replaced by a new one, the new article number must be entered in this field. The information enables recipients to understand which item replaces the old one.
Replacement Article Number is mandatory when using discontinuation code 2 (discontinued and replaced with an equivalent item) or discontinuation code 5 (discontinued and replaced with an identical equivalent).

Usage
The supplier specifies the new article number that replaces the discontinued item.
Finfo verifies that the article number follows the required standard, that it has not previously been used by the supplier, and that the replacement article number is registered in Finfo.
Recipients use the replacement article number to identify and replace the old item with the new one in their systems.
