EPD, Currently Valid

Field codes IN KNARTKOD17 | OUT WIARTKOD17 | API hasValidEPD

Definition

This field specifies whether there is a currently valid Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for the item in accordance with SS-EN 15804:2012+A2:2019 or SS-ISO 14025:2010.

Explanation

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a third-party verified document that presents the environmental impact of a product or service throughout its entire life cycle, from raw material extraction and production to use and waste management.

EPDs follow international standards such as ISO 14025 (environmental labels and declarations) and EN 15804:2012+A2:2019 (for construction products and construction services). This ensures transparency, comparability, and high quality of environmental data.

The information is based on a standardized Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and is used as a basis for making sustainable choices, for example in construction projects.

More information is available from the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning Boverket.
