This field specifies the item’s statistical commodity code (Intrastat number) for cross-border trade.
Explanation
The customs code is used when reporting trade in goods between EU countries as well as for import and export. The code enables classification of goods according to the applicable customs tariff and ensures compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
The code may be entered with 8 or 10 digits. To meet both import and export requirements, it is recommended to provide the code with 10 digits.
Current customs tariffs and commodity codes are available on the website of the Swedish Customs Authority (Tullverket).
Usage
The supplier specifies the statistical commodity code according to the applicable customs tariff. The field is mandatory.
Finfo verifies that the code is numeric, consists of 8 or 10 digits, and is listed in the current customs tariff of the Swedish Customs Authority.
