Model Description is used to describe a model number so that the recipient understands what the model refers to.
Explanation
Each model number must have a unique model description that clearly indicates which product family or model it applies to. The description helps recipients understand the relationship between items that belong to the same model.
The model description must be the same for all items sharing the model number. It must be unique per model number and must not contain terms such as PEFC or FSC.
Usage
The supplier specifies a unique model description for each model number.
Finfo verifies that all items with the same model number have the same model description, that the description is unique per model number, that it does not contain PEFC or FSC, and that all items with a model number also have a model description.
Recipients use the model description together with the model number to correctly present and group items, for example in e-commerce.
