This field specifies the item’s previous article number before an article number change was carried out.
Explanation
When an article number is changed, the previous number must be entered in the field Previous Article Number. The date of the change is entered in the field Article Number Change Date.
If only the article number is changed and no other item information is modified, the existing Finfo number can be retained. This allows history and references to be preserved despite the number change.
Usage
The supplier enters the old article number in the field Previous Article Number and the new number in the field Article Number. The date of the change is entered in the field Article Number Change Date.
Finfo verifies that the article number change date is provided and that no other item information has been altered.
Recipients register the previous article number as discontinued and replace it with the new article number in their systems.
