Explanation
The goal is for the trade to be able to place orders directly using the packaging GTIN. In some cases, this is not yet technically possible for all order recipients. To support this transition period, the purchasing indicator is used as a temporary solution.
The field indicates which unit the order should actually be placed on if it cannot be managed using the GTIN of the orderable packaging.
