Fältkoder IN KNVARUM | UT WIVARUM | API brand
The brand refers to the unique name, symbol, logo, or design that distinctly identifies a product or service from a specific manufacturer or supplier.
Information and description
A brand serves as a guarantee of product quality and helps customers distinguish between different products on the market.
For retailers, brands make it possible to group products with the same brand, for example, on websites. The brand is also used together with the product name to help customers find the right item on shelves, such as through shelf labels.
The brand must be stated exactly as it appears in the Brand Report on the Finfo portal.
The brand is governed by GTIN rules, meaning that if the brand changes, a new GTIN must be assigned to the primary package (and thereby also to the secondary and tertiary packages, if applicable). A new article number is also required.
Responsibilities
Supplier
Specify the brand that identifies the product. This is usually printed on the product and often differs from the supplier name. If the product has no brand, the field should be filled in with N/A. In retail, this indicates that the product is unbranded and should be categorized accordingly.
Some products have both a brand and a sub-brand; in such cases, the primary brand is entered in this field, and the sub-brand is entered separately in the Sub-brand field.
Finfo
Verifies that a brand is provided and that it appears in the Brand Report on the Finfo portal, meaning it is an approved brand.
Recipient
In the customer’s system, the supplier’s brand is used to group articles and clarify brand information for end customers in sales transactions.
